Rewriting Satellite.jpeg

A rewriting satellite is a type of teraforming device placed in orbit above a planet. These satellites have the capability to completely rewrite portions of a planet's surface, allowing for rapid teraforming and transformation of a planet into an inhabitable world. They are also used as a means to punish disobedient servants of the controllers, or their subjects. They can also repair areas of land, water, or atmosphere damaged by either natural, or man made disasters. They even have the ability to print living trees, grass, some insects, and other things. They can rewrite and change rivers, remove them completely, add them in, create mountains, create seas, complete with water, and much more.

A limitation of the satellites is that they can't make living things. Trees and insects are "alive" in the sense that they are functioning, biological machines. However, they are not "alive" in the sense of what a horse, or a mouse, or even a human would be. IE, they can print or create physical bodies, and biological structures, but cannot create the souls that are needed to animate living animals. If those are added to an environment, they must come from other sources. In the hands of the controllers, these satellites are also a very powerful tool of fear and intimidation, designed to help keep the populations of their worlds in line, while also being able to destroy those who do not obey.

These satellites are generally used sparingly, but were seen used in the events of The Offworld Chronicles to punish The Four Kingdoms, as well as The Demesne of Kaspar for their crimes against their masters, completely rewriting their lands to erase them from existence.
