A Biomechanoid is a technologically enhanced life form created through genetic modification, manipulation and hardware augmentation. They are a blend of the mechanical and the biological and tend to possess above average to superior intellect and intelligence above and beyond those of their natural brethren or other similar creatures. Examples of Biomechanoids on the planet of Offworld include Yurg the tiger, The Dragons of Offworld, The Wolves of Ratinar, Captain Ebenezer and several others. Anyone else, such as racers, who possess similar technological augmentation, are not classified as biomechanoids. Only lifeforms created by, and who server the controllers are classified as such.

General Info

  • Biomechanoids are not living creatures. They are machines made of flesh and blood with considerable amounts of cybernetic and technological enhancements, and imbued with a cybernetic intelligence, designed to make them intelligent, and self aware, and able to perform any task given to them by their masters, no matter what it may be. Any creature that has natural intelligence, regardless if it is cybernetically enhanced or not, is considered a Technologically Enhanced Lifeform or "TEL" for short.
  • Biomechanoids are NOT cyborgs. They are genetically modified hybrid organisms that seamlessly blend both the mechanical and biological into a single, greatly enhanced lifeform that is fully capable of reproducing just like any other biological life form, yet enjoys the benefits of the many different cybernetic implants installed within their bodies.
  • The degree of augmentation a biomechanoid enjoys depends upon 1) the original mission they were created to perform, and 2) their size, age and/or species. For example, the Dragons of Offworld enjoy access to a whole shopping list of upgrades and enhancements that others, such as Ebenezer and Yurg, do not possess, as their intended purpose and mission do not require them, or their bodies simply aren't big enough to house the additional technologies required to possess or use these technologies.
  • Some biomechanoids are created from a single species, and designed to do a specific job as required by the controllers, such as Yurg and the Wolves of Ratinar. Others, such as the Dragons, are a composite blending together of several species into a single and distinct new creation.
  • Some biomechanoids have implanted technology that allows them to live without consuming food or water, while others are required to eat, like any other creature, in order to sustain themselves and survive. Again, this falls under the same reasons that not every biomechanoid is outfitted with the same technology.
