Callent is a Sevedith, a Red Paladin, and the partner of Shanomar. He was saved by Shanomar from Garc merchants intent on using him as a slave. Even though he was initially given the choice to be free after Shanomar saved him, he chose instead to serve Shanomar as his friend, companion and protector for the rest of his life as an act of gratitude. The two have been inseparable ever since.
