Jalon is a brown, leathery skinned, dark eyed reptilian man of unknown race who serves in the Nyuishian Red Paladin corps, and is one of many within the corps, like Callent, who was saved from a life of slavery during Shanomar's time as a Red Paladin field agent. However, unlike the others, Jalon treats Shanomar as his master, not his superior, a fact that infuriates and frustrates Shanomar. Even so, Jalon is one of Shanomar's best, and most trusted agents, with skills and abilities that rival even the best Red Paladins.
