Macaman Island is a small, rocky, low lying atoll in the northern portions of the Great Sea, and lies along a route taken by James Remiru and the Flying Coachmen in their race to escape the cluteches of Manwan Despon and his pirate fleet. It is also the location of a multi-part battle that led to the defeat of Despon and his fleet, who were sailing in pursuit of Remiru. It was also one of the few battles ever undertaken by the Invictus Maneo, a semi-clad wooden sailing ship serving under the flag of Grootwand.
