A Navigator Compass is an electronic, hand held navigation device similar in nature to a Garmin that is provided to racers by the controllers in lieu of a traditional compass. The reasons why this is the case is uncertain, but it's the only compass that racers are permitted to use. The device is waterproof, never needs to be charged, is highly durable, and shows racers the course itself, as well as wintering grounds, resource nodes, local towns and villages, land features, and more.
