Technologically Enhanced Lifeform

From ROI Wiki
(Redirected from TEL)

A Technologically Enhanced Lifeform (AKA a "TEL") is any living creature, be it man or beast, that is technologically enhanced with neural implants, nanites, and a variety of other similarly advanced technologies. These technological enhancements provide the implanted lifeform with a variety of potential gifts and abilities, skills, and much more. In some creatures, such as Yurg, The Wolves of Ratinar, The Dragons of Offworld and others, it also provides them with expanded, and greatly enhanced intelligence, and in some cases great wisdom and cunning as well.

For the dragons, the implants provide them with extra abilities such as mass manipulation, rapid self healing, self nourishment, long life, cloaking, shields, and more. For others, such as Yurg, it only offers enhanced intelligence, as well as wisdom and the use or access to some of the technology embedded into Offworld, such as the holographic communications system, and so on. What features are enabled, or available to an individual partially depends upon species, or the size of the individual, as smaller creatures have less abilities than their larger compatriots due to lack of internal volume within the individual.
