Craven Lucius is a Chief Petty Officer and Boatswain's Mate aboard the free merchant (and formerly pirate) clipper ship, the Flying Coachman. He is a very wise, educated, and elegant man, a tea-totaler, and an expert merchant. While he is an older man, one who is quickly drawing close to retirement, he gladly serves his captain, James Remiru and follows him wherever he goes.
