Taerieth

Taerieth is the eldest sister of Magendra Tallenon, and the firstborn of Weyr Master Shuman. She is also the only one, among all of Shuman's children, who have passed Keltess, who have not either found a future mate, become engaged, or even married. Instead, she finds herself quite content with being single, which is to the great chagrin, and consternation of her mother, who constantly nags her to get married, begging and pleading with her to find a mate, no matter who they are. However, Taerieth refuses, partly because she's not interested, partly because she hasn't found a dragon she actually likes as a potential life mate, and partially to continue to spite her overbearing, and obsessive mother.

Eventually, she meets Ahshone and, slowly, over several years, falls in love with him, and the two get married. This ends up spawning several jokes from Maggy about how it took the single most boring dragon in all of Offworld to finally catch her interest. Yet, despite this playful teasing, Taerieth takes no offense at this, as she sees Ahshone as anything but the boring dragon that Maggy sees him as. In fact, she sees Maggy's marriage to Garloond as "being married to far too much excitement for one dragon."

Fun Facts

Taerieth is just a little over 400 years old, being Shuman's first child, born when he was in his early 200's.
