Adramelech is the chief demon of the Alien Brotherhood and its supreme leader. He is equivalent in rank to the Chief Director within The Syndicate, meaning that his subordinates are answerable to the Chief Director, and vice versa, but only for purposes of administration and organization. Pound for pound he is far superior and stronger than the Chief Director. But he chooses not to press this advantage as it's to his advantage to keep the peace between the two sides for as long as necessary to achieve his ultimate goals, of which few know them. One of those goals is to create a biological master race, superior in every aspect to every other biological lifeform in the galaxy. However, he and his subordinates have had little luck with. But that doesn't mean they haven't had some successes along the way, such as the dragons, the wolves and even Yurg, who are all byproducts of their work.

However, their work regularly draws great ridicule from their fellow demons back on Earth, who are content making creatures that are genetically and mentally inferior to those created by Adramelech and his men. But this doesn't bother him or his men. That's because, unlike the other demons back on Earth, he's not after a bunch of genetically adulterated monsters. He wants creatures that can think and reason for themselves, and who can think their way out of problems rather than merely smashing, bashing and blindly following orders. To him, a wise servant is better than a mindless one. He still demands strict obedience. But he's also okay with his creations thinking for themselves, as that tends to create better results for him in the end. Or at least they will when he finally achieves the perfect biological specimen, of which he has yet to achieve, as his efforts have been repeatedly thwarted by God, in one form or another, up to this point.
