Akotet

The Akotet is the Yandian office of intelligence gathering that is similar in nature to the CIA, or Earthfleet's SIC. It's primary purpose is information gathering, and intelligence processing, on topics that are normally either outside of, or taboo subjects of normal librarian information gathering. They are also to the Yandian high council of information in the fact that they are able to gather information that nobody else is able to due to the sometimes questionable methods required in order to do so. However, due to the necessity of using such taboo and clandestine methods of information gathering, especially when questionable, and unethical methods are required for its acquisition, spies working for the Akotet are looked down upon by most of Yandian society, especially those who are librarians. Even so, Akotet spies are tolerated simply from the fact that their information is highly valued, and prized by the Council, and the Ministry of Information Acquisition.
