Flier

A Flier is the local name used for all bushcraft like aircraft used within the Hundred Isles. These aircraft range in design from basic piston prop, ultralight aircraft to large, turbojet powered aircraft capable of moving very large cargoes. The primary use of the aircraft, though, is for expedited delivery of packages for wealthy clients as the cost of hiring a flier, despite their popularity, is quite significant, and generally beyond the means of most islanders. This is especially surprising given that most freight and passenger hauling between islands is handled by boats and motor launches. However, those can take anywhere from several hours, to several days to make a delivery, whereas a flier can typically deliver a package in under an hour for most locations. Thus, they are highly prized when the delivery of either a package, or person, in the shorted amount of time is preferred, or required.
