Free Agent

Syndicate Free Agents or simply "Free Agents" are racers who came to Offworld, but at some time were offered a bribe by the controllers to become agents of The Syndicate, giving up their right as racers to win The Race of Offworld, while retaining all their perks as racers, and also gaining the rights of Syndicate employees, but without requiring them to swear or maintain loyalty to the Syndicate. Some of them may be further bribed to become willing accomplices and employees of the Syndicate. But most are simply released onto the planet and left to do whatever they wish to do without interference by the Syndicate or any of their loyal servants. Free Agents also differ from racers in the identification dot on their left wrist in the fact that it is green, whereas racers, employees, servants and slaves of the controllers all possess ID dots that are red. This quickly identifies them as Free Agents to anyone who may encounter them along the way.
