Marargon

The Marargon are a migratory bug like race who travel from galaxy to galaxy harvesting any and all resources they can find to feed, and provide for each of their massive, Jupiter sized hive ships. Each hive is controlled by a master queen, who rules over other lesser queens that control the daily operations of the hive. Also, while each hive is its own separate colony, and society, they all work together, to create an overwhelming force, by which they can ensure their mutual safety, and continued existence. The Marargon drones operate as a hive mind, working together as a "swarm" to ensure proper daily operation of the hive, and its defense, with each drone acting as a smaller piece of the larger whole. And, while drones are individually intelligent, as though a single entity.

Their united minds also help in greatly improve thinking, and problem solving abilities, which helps them make up for their somewhat inferior technology in comparison to many of the other races they've encountered along their journey. During The Marargon Invasion, through creative, and skilled tactical genius, the Marargon are defeated, save for one hive, and its queen, who determines that it's better, and safer, to side with the races of the Milky Way, and the ASW, as doing otherwise guarantees their destruction because, unlike their invasions of other galaxies, this one is different, and their opponents are far more powerful than the Marargon have ever encountered before; a fact that the bulk of the queens ignore to their destruction.
