The Chicago class is a series of Earthfleet heavy battleships modeled after similar Gayik'Von light battleship designs of the time period. It is one of the last battleship classes to be built prior to the shipkillers taking over the primary duty of defending Sol as the primary frontline offensive ships of the fleet. The Chicago class is a contemporary to other famous Earthfleet battle ships, such as the Romano dreadnought class, of which the famous Spartacus was a part of, as well as the Nova, and several other battleship classes.
