An Inductee is any person who is not part of the Brayburn Society who is brought in from the outside, primarily from Earth, but also from the greater galaxy as well from time to time, and "inducted" into the Society as an official member. Each inductee is carefully chosen from numerous candidates, heavily vetted, and then eventually invited to join the Society. If they accept, they are given a period of training, ranging from a few months, to several years, depending on the individual, and then inserted into Society or Earthfleet as a full member with all the same rights and privileges as those born in the Society. Inductees also are not just chosen at random to fill out the numbers of the Society or Earthfleet, but are instead selected based on a specific need within either group that can't be filled by one within their own ranks. Or, if it can be, the filling of the slot by a native born member of the Society would prove to be insufficient or inferior to one who is brought in from the outside to fill that same position. Two examples of Inductees chosen with this exact purpose in mind are Dutch and Dr. Rasmussen.
