The Great Awakening

The Great Awakening is a marker in time denoting the change from the old archaic, agrarian ways of life into the new golden age of science, technology and discovery. It's officially marked as having begun in Royal Year 950, during the rule of King Brahdak, led and also spawned by the intervention of Tgegani, Ibara and Sine, who introduced their people once again to the great wonders of technology that their ancestors had cast away. After that, all time began being marked as AGA (after great awakening), or sometimes just GA. Time before that, during the royal period was either marked as BGA (before great awakening), or simply RY for "Royal Year". The third and final division of time, which includes the years after the colonists had landed, all the way back to the dawn of time, was known as BRY, or "Before Royal Years". Sometimes this was also written as BT, or "Before Time", which was the abbreviated way of saying, "Before recorded time".
