Royal Year
A Royal Year in Yigzan terms is a marking of time on the Yigzan calendar that began being used to mark time starting from roughly 30-40 years after the arrival of the first colonists, when the first kings and monarchs of the royal line began to arise, and lead led the Yigzan people through the dark days that came about as a consequence of their somewhat difficult adjustment from living a hyper advanced, highly technological lifestyle, to a far more primitive, agrarian life, and eventually into the golden years beyond. The monarchy wasn't officially abandoned until nearly thirty years after The Great Awakening when the primary form of government for the Yigzan was changed from that of a monarchy, to a democratic parliamentarian which remained in place until the fall of Braisail, and the flight of the refugees to another new world.
