Eclet

The Eclet was a Gayik'Von battleship class that served with distinction from approximately 1731 to 1906 earth time when the class was phased out. Surplus ships were then either decommissioned and scrapped, or in rare cases they were refitted and sold to friendly republics within Gayik'Von space. Earthfleet was gifted two of these ships, which they examined in detail, and then used as the foundation for the construction of their Romano class heavy dreadnoughts. And, while the technology aboard was older and obsolete, it proved to be a greatly beneficial technological boost for Earthfleet in an important time in their technological history. This is because, prior to receiving the ships, most Earthfleet technology was based around reverse engineered civilian technology. So adding this useful piece of military technology to their proverbial quiver proved to be extremely beneficial.
