Emmett Brownstone

Emmett Brownstone is a wealthy farm owner located in the eastern end of the Clement Valley and is the employer of Abby Delt. He's a kindly old man whose takes in Simon's team and shelters them after his grandson invites them over to stay shortly after they entered the valley. He's an old fashioned man with old fashioned values, and a strong believer who loves Christ and treats all men fairly. He even helps Abby get a new start in life, shortly after she entered the valley, and even acts as a strong opponent to Bartholomew Wickham and his self righteous, arrogant, despotic religious hegemony over the valley. Emmett's wife Emily Brownstone also helps run the farm, and employs Abby as her helper with all the house chores, as well as the care of Emmett's aging, and dementia stricken mother.
