Gateway Transporter

A gateway transporter is one of two primary transporter technologies employed by the controllers, and the older of the two methods for point to point instantaneous transport currently in use. This technology folds space, and connects two completely separate locations in time/space through the use of a circular wormhole through which objects being transported pass. While older and less advanced that the more modern point or "flash" transporters, it is also a lot more robust, has greater range, and can handle objects much larger than the current flash transporters are capable of. Their primary use is in transporting objects, cargo and individuals over vast expanses of space, or even between points on a planet if needed. However, through the aid of Maul Ratinar, his wolves are one of only a handful of groups or individuals outside of The Syndicate who have cooped its use for their own personal needs.

Also, unlike Flash Transporters, gateway transporters have the ability to filter items being passed through their gates and selectively sort them by destination, beginning with a single source gate and ending with numerous end points, each one receiving a particular object, individual or item as desired. This is useful for both sorting multiple pieces of cargo destined for multiple locations, but also for removing contaminants from transported items. One of the more common uses for this is water filtering, where the transporter system separate clean water from a known list of contaminants, separating them from a single source into multiple destinations before delivery.
