It is a cold, lonely, desolate place where living is hard, but doable. The economy of the area relies primarily on fishing, hunting, mining, wool and textile trade, shepherding and a number of mountain friendly crops that love the harsh climate of the mountains, but don't do well in the prairie, whereas plants and vegetables of the prairie don't do well in the mountains, ensuring that one does not encroach on the others territory.
