Trandis

Trandis is an inhabited world deep within the Gayik'Von republic, within the same region as both Jalc and Sol, and is a water world filled with oceans from pole to pole. However, despite there being little land, and near constant rain and storms, the planet is a favorite among many Gayik'Von. Since the oceans of the planet are generally shallow, being no more than 300 feet deep at any one point, it makes the oceans, and the planet as a whole very warm, resulting in no arctic oceans or regions. It also has no desert regions either because of this.

The planet is divided up into two general areas, with everything from the equator, to the 45th parallel in both hemispheres being tropical, and everything north, and south of the respective 45th parallels, all the way to the poles, being temperate, with low temperatures never dropping below roughly 45F at any time of the year. In the tropical regions, temperatures remain steady throughout the year, never getting much higher than 90F at any point. Most major habitation centers on the planet, save for the few that exist on the small collection of islands, and minor land masses, scattered all across the planet, exist as floating islands, cities on pedestals (which are anchored to the sea floor), or cities that float freely above the water on gigantic anti-gravity pads.

In fact, floating cities are so common on the planet, that it's not surprising if one happens to come across a floating estate, ranch, or any number of other possible floating residences, industrial complexes, and more. Fishing on the planet is absolutely astounding, with a very large and diversified selection of fish, which is the chief export of Trandis, and considered a luxury item all across the galaxy. The fishing trade is very respected among everyone who lives on the planet. Agriculture, such as farming, raising cattle, and more, is done using vast, flat, and specialized ships that float above the oceans and provide dry land on which rodents and insects are raised (remember, the Gayik'Von primarily eat insects and mice), as well as other forms of food production.
