History
Edmond was born to Robert and Darcy Clayton in 1768, both of whom were merchants in colonial America, just prior to the revolutionary war. At a young age he left his home and wandered for a time, putting himself under the instruction of many of the great minds of the day before eventually becoming a cabin boy aboard a large wooden merchant ship, quickly working his way up through the ranks to become a captain of his own merchant ship. Edmond distinguished himself among all other sea captains of the era by being one of the few who would not only take up seemingly impossible challenges, but also succeed at them...repeatedly.
Pirates feared him, employers loved him, and his crews respected him, causing him to be in high demand among both employers and customers alike. His skill as a sea captain, and as a leader, eventually caught the attention of the Brayburn Society, who then recruited him to be the captain of their new, and upcoming starship, the Destiny. Later in life, upon the founding of the Society Space Corps, he becomes their admiral. He then becomes Grand Admiral of the fleet upon the founding of Earthfleet.
