Nova

The Nova class of Battleships are an older light battleship class employed exclusively in Sol Sector by Earthfleet, and is a defensive starship design modeled heavily after similar Gayik'Von designs of relatively the same era. While it was not considered state of the art by the Gayik'Von at the time it was created, as it's built off of older light battleship designs and technology used by the Gayik'Von during that time period (they were first built in the early 1940's Earth time), the ship was created and developed through a very close partnership with the Gayik'Von, who played a large part in the design and construction of the ship, and its early prototypes. Later upgrades and improvements were handled exclusively by Earthfleet, using previously shared Gayik'Von technology and knowledge. All but two of the ships in this class were lost during The Battle of the Oort Perimeter. The class was officially retired shortly after the end of that battle, with the last two remaining ships being added to the Society Starship Museum shortly afterwards.
