Repulsion Drive

A Repulsion Drive is an early Brayburn Society anti-gravity drive used for propelling everything from aircraft to barges to even a starship. The technology is based off of a basic reverse gravity principle where the drives create a counter gravity field that pushes against both the matter and energy surrounding it, giving a vessel both lift and acceleration/deceleration and which is also surprisingly energy efficient. It was used by the Society Starship Destiny on its maiden voyage, but was later abandoned in favor of sublight impulse drive systems as employed by the Gayik'Von as their technology was superior in every way to the Society's repulsion drive. This technology was employed by the Society for nearly fifty years before being abandoned shortly after the events of First Dawn.
