The Dragon Islands is an archipelago located on the planet of Ember in the middle of the Calouric Sea, an area of constant bad weather and violent storms. It is in a Syndicate science lab on the island, run by the Brotherhood, that the dragons are created. It is on this island that Bimranth, and his mate Zorross. It is from these two that all other dragons are born. It is also on these islands that great dragons, such as Zek, Narond, Akhur and others are born.
