The '''Sol Republic''' is an organization that is a joint venture between the [[Brayburn Society]], [[Earthfleet]] and the [[United Earth]] Republic. It is designed to take advantage of the advanced technology of the Brayburn Society, the military prowess and experience of Earthfleet, and the numerical superiority of Earth, to create an organization that acts as a controlling, moderating influence over the people of Earth, to help bring them up to date technologically (while still keeping Earthfleet and the Society as the technological superior, for obvious reasons), and to provide both a filter, and a moderating influence, on the expansion of Mankind into space. Part of this is to keep Mankind, in general, but most especially Earth, out of trouble, and block those who would otherwise create havoc and mayhem (like the [[Crassians]] once did), and get Mankind in trouble with the larger races of the galaxy.
