Subton

The city of Subton is an independent walled and heavily fortified city-state located within Unity imperial territory, and is situated along the main river that flows through the southern territories of both the Unity Empire, and the Sheffield Republic, and empties into The Reaping Sea. It is a fairly modern city with technology and a culture equaling or exceeding that of mid 1980's America. The city operates with three primary industries: Agriculture, industrial, and salvage. The latter is supported by an attached submarine base, and a fleet of 17 submarines, three of which are upgraded models powered by salvaged controller technology. One of these three submarines, the Calypso, is captained by Clifford Weiss, a former US Navy submarine captain. The city and its government are independent from the Unity Empire, although their territory resides well within the borders of Unity territory.
