Apoo

Apoo is a bright, cherry red dragon from Morten, and a fleeting love interest for Magendra Tallenon (aka Maggy). However, he is considerably younger than Maggy, and therefore remains merely an infatuation as Maggy's parents very much disapprove of him due to his highly immature, mischievous nature, not to mention his youth. So, respecting her parents, Maggy remains as nothing more than friends with the young mischievous dragon. However, given the extreme lack of eligible bachelors available in her own weyr, she is left with the unfortunate decision of choosing either Apoo, or Ahshone (the latter of whom is considerably older than Maggy), to be her life mate. However, if given a choice between the two, she would, without question, choose Apoo over Ahshone, despite his immaturity, and youthfulness as Maggy has a great disliking for Ahshone.

Later on, Apoo is taken under the wing of Zek and molded into a very honorable, albeit still somewhat immature youngling. Even so, he grows and matures considerably under Zek, which is an achievement that his home weyr, no matter how much they tried, could not achieve. There is much speculation on how this came about, and how Zek had done what seemed like the impossible. However, there are several rumors floating around to the effect that one of Zek's granddaughters had caught his eye, and in exchange for her hand, he agreed to be molded into a proper dragon under the firm, yet wise and meticulous leadership of Zek. He is later on sent, along with Zek's granddaughter, to the world of Ember, and placed under the leadership of Garloond, where he grows into a dragon of great respect. There's no word on whether he married Zek's granddaughter or not. But, given his interest in her, it's very likely that he did.
