Bob Jakes

Bob Jakes is a master navigator and pilot, friend to Mike Clayton, and the grandfather (on his mother's side) to Joel Pendleton. He is also the descendant of Kendall Jakes of Destiny fame. Bob Jakes is also unique in the fact that, while he regularly serves on Earthfleet starships, and understakes both Brayburn Society and Earthfleet missions, he is not a military officer, but rather a civilian working with both the Society, and Earthfleet, on whatever missions come up that require his skills. He is essentially a specialty pilot for hire, brought aboard for special, and oftentimes difficult missions, yet lacking the limitations, and restraints, that would be brought about were he a regular commissioned officer. This freedom gives him the ability to go places, and do things, that a normal military pilot might either be unable to do, or not allowed. As an additional item of interest, he served aboard the Agamemnon at one time.
