The Four Children

The Four Children is a group of four of the most advanced androids on Braisail, who appear in the book as a group of children, roughly 8 years of age, and who are the ultimate and greatest creation of Dr. Slao. They are so special to him that he considers them his biological children, and treats them as such, despite the fact that they are merely highly advanced, and sentient machines. The names of the four children are Sdalla (male), Sinnac (male), Pettassa (female) and Floresa (female). (Note: Just like with the Burgon Lions, they do not have the ability to procreate, and thus their genders are merely assigned to them for grammatical and esthetic purposes.) While the individual children or their characters are not directly explored in the story, they are an instrumental driving force behind the Margog (who hunts them), and the eventual war against, and ultimate defeat of both the Margog, as well as his Horde army.
