Phillip Augustus is the Emperor of the Crassian people, and the man who brought the ancient Roman, and later Crassian dream of galactic conquest to fruition, and who is also responsible for many of the unfortunate events which occur to Sol Sector, Earthfleet and the Brayburn Society, as well as The Nine Ancient Races, and many others. However, despite being a brilliant man, Phillip's efforts ultimately prove to be in vain as his thirst for galactic conquest ultimately leads him and all of his people to total and complete extermination. His right hand man and most trusted advisor is Licinius Magnus, who is loyal to him through most of The Earthfleet Saga, but ends up betraying him in the end, knowing that Phillip is doing more to destroy their people than actually help them.
